Research Focus

Broadly, I am interested in the perceptual processes that enable us to coordinate with others. For example, how we understand actions, or how social contexts might modulate our perception of our surroundings.

Most of my work is experimental, but I also use meta-analysis to test theoretical accounts of widely studied phenomena.

Current Projects

Social modulation of moral decision-making

starting

How do social contexts affect moral decision-making? We are investigating whether and how the presence of others affects decisions in sacrificial dilemmas.

Predictive processing of joint actions

ongoing

Predictive processing accounts of action understanding propose that we use a range of predictive cues to understand others’ actions. We investigate whether observers similarly integrate others' social contexts during action understanding.
